Center for Chemical Genomics Services

The current prices for screening services are listed below.

Assay Development

We would be happy to meet with you to learn more about your research and screening goals, and to develop a screening plan. Facility staff work with you to design and optimize your assay. Investigators are charged for assay consumables and are responsible for providing all of the reagents needed for the assay. Use of facility pipettors, platereader, hood and incubators are available for assay development. Center staff time and effort for assay development is currently included in the price for the performing the MicroSource primary screen, to encourage the development of novel and higher-risk assays.

Primary Screening Services

Primary screening is charged a fee for each compound collection. Primary screening includes single point data at a single compound concentration for each compound in the collection. For assays that are performed at multiple screening days, the screening fee per day is pro-rated to the number of plates run relative to the entire collection, assuming a maximum of five screening days. Equipment facility use is included in compound library screening price. Investigators are responsible for all reagents and consumables required to perform their screen.

Use of compound collections by members of the Yale community are charged according to the following schedule:

  1. The MicroSource Gen-Plus collection is a set of 960 compounds with known bioactivity, including medicines currently in use, arrayed in three 384-well plates. It is an excellent library for pilot screening because only small amounts of reagents are required. In many cases, compounds identified are known effectors of the assay. $3,000
  2. * The Maybridge Diversity collection is a set of 20,000 compounds arrayed in 63, 384-well plates. It is a chemically diverse library, that has been filtered for those chemical properties consistent with oral availability (small size, numbers of hydrogen bond donors and acceptors). $8,000
  3. The Yale Compound Repository is a collection of compounds synthesized by Yale chemists. We are actively building this collection and would be happy to include your compounds. We need mg quantities of each compound, and the structure in ChemDraw format. These compounds are available, free of charge, for use in screens by the Yale community.

*If Maybridge library screening is completed within 90 days of finishing the MicroSource screening, the charge will be discounted $1,000 for a screening charge of $7,000.

Dose Response Services

Dose-response studies are performed using 3-fold serial dilutions of each compound, in two independent series. Typically, the wells span compound concentrations ranging from 50 uM to 0.3 nM. 12-compounds can be accomodated for each 384-well plate, and control wells, lacking compounds, are included. The price for setting up, running and analyzing the results is $200 per 384-well plate.

Facility Equipment Use

Equipment and staff assistance are charged in 15-minute increments to members of the Yale community according to the following schedule:

Thermo Multidrop 384 Liquid Dispenser $30 per hour

PerkinElmer Envision Multilabel Plate Reader $50 per hour

Assisted Facility Use (liquid handling) $75 per hour
