YCGP Mission

The mission of CGP at Yale is to provide the necessary physical and human infrastructure to support work in the fields of genomics and proteomics and to link this to bioinformatics, computational biology and bioengineering. The Center maximizes opportunities for communications and collaboration among the many departments and subfields at Yale and between Yale scientists and their colleagues in peer institutions and in industrial research laboratories. The Center has developed a teaching and training program that responds to current and future needs of the field. This involves continued creation of course materials for the current curriculum as well as specialized courses, training sessions and hands-on workshops. In addition, the center sponsors monthly in-house seminars and annual symposia. Further, the scientists affiliated with the Center are committed to developing cutting-edge technologies that will benefit human and social endeavors.
