Organization

The Yale Center for Genomics and Proteomics is a “Center without Walls” and integrates research and teaching resources throughout the Yale campus. Administrative oversight is provided through the Office of the Provost and overseen by Kim Bottomly, Deputy Provost for Science and Technology, and Carolyn Slayman, Sterling Professor of Genetics, Deputy Dean, School of Medicine, and Professor of Physiology. Scientific Administration is provided by Michael Snyder, Lewis B. Cullman Professor of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, and Sherman Weissman, Sterling Professor of Genetics, Medicine, and Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, Director of Molecular Oncology and Development Programs.

The Center is organized around four core areas: Functional Genomics/Proteomics, Chemical Genomics, Medical Genomics, and Bioinformatics. One or two faculty members who together with the two scientific administrators function as an executive committee for the Center oversee each of these four core areas.
